Unleashing the Adventure: Our Summer 2023 Bucket List

Summer 2023 has finally arrived, bringing with it endless possibilities and opportunities for adventure!

As the temperatures rise (or maybe temperature drops) and the days grow longer (or darker), it's time to make the most of whatever season you are in. Have you made any plans for your summer/winter yet?

Whether you're seeking travel adventures, embarking on a health journey, planning a camping trip, exploring hiking trails, or indulging in new culinary experiences, there's no shortage of options to fill your time.

For us, this summer holds a special significance as we embarked on a project that has been on our bucket list. Despite living hundreds of miles apart, we decided to come together and create this very blog. It's a collaborative effort that allows us to share our unique insights, experiences, and opinions with the world, in the hopes of making a positive impact on at least one person's life. The concept of starting a joint blog while being physically separated may seem challenging, but we believe that distance should never hinder dreams and aspirations. With the power of technology, we can bridge the gap and bring our collective voices to this platform.

Leah's Personal Bucket List:
  • For coffee enthusiasts like myself, embarking on a journey to discover new coffee shops is a thrilling endeavor. I have decided to visit various coffee shops in my area and beyond. With each sip, I'll savor the unique flavors, aromas, and ambiance that different coffee shops have to offer. It's an opportunity to indulge in what I love and expand my coffee horizons.
  • Camping Quest. Immersing myself in the great outdoors has always been a source of joy and rejuvenation. I am determined to go camping in new and exciting locations. Whether exploring hidden gems in my local area or venturing a little further out, camping allows me to connect with nature and embrace the world's wonders. From starry nights by the campfire to waking up to breathtaking landscapes, camping is an affordable and enriching way to experience the beauty of our surroundings.
  • Continuing a Health Journey. As the school year came to a close, I made a promise to myself to embark on a health journey during the summer months. This commitment is not just about physical well-being but also nurturing a sense of self-acceptance and inner harmony. I will continue to prioritize my health, embracing activities that nourish both my body and mind. By staying true to this journey, I aim to cultivate a greater level of comfort and confidence in who I am, empowering myself to thrive and live my best life.
Marit's Personal Bucket List:
  • Incorporating Different Physical Challenges. Being a retired swimmer leaves me with many opportunities to try out new things and incorporate different ways of challenging my body. This summer I want to put the focus on finding a purpose/goal in my workouts so that I can include different ways of training in order to achieve those goals. Right now I am doing the 75 Hard challenge with Leah, which is going well, but I am lacking the actual purpose so I just work out but with no actual intent.
  • Trying Out New Foods! I love baking and cooking and I have done a lot of that in the past. This summer I want to bake/cook at least 5 hard recipes. I will probably do the basic cooking and baking regardless but I also want to take the time to try something really difficult and actually take the time to prepare it. When I do so, you will of course see the results! If you have any good recipe ideas, let me know!
  • Finishing the HP series. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, which is why I am a little ashamed to admit I have never even read the entire series. I read maybe one or two of the books in Dutch but it has always been my goal to read the series in English because I believe it will be better in its original written language. My mom and dad gifted me the coolest birthday present this year, which was the "Hogwarts House Edition." These are all the books in their House theme, in my case, Gryffindor. Without spoiling too much about the cool edition, I just want to say that the books are not only in their House colors, there are also a lot of cool other features such as the history of certain characters and there's even a House Trivia! My goal for this summer is to finish all 7 of the books in the series!
This summer, as we cross off items from our bucket list, we invite you to join us on this incredible journey. Together, let's make Summer/Winter 2023 a season of growth, exploration, and shared experiences. Stay tuned for our upcoming posts, as we delve into the heart of our summer and uncover its hidden treasures.

So, what are your plans for this summer? Let us know in the comments below, and together, let's make this summer one for the books!
