Co-host Catch-up!
Welcome back! We bet you missed us! We for sure have missed you.
Over the past few weeks, life has been absolutely crazy for us, and we cannot wait to get you up to speed!
The past three weeks has been absolutely pedal to the medal for me (Leah). I wrapped up my graduate thesis just in time to submit for defense approval. Ten days later I defended my graduate thesis in front of a room full of people. This was literally the most nerve racking speech I have ever given - and I like giving speeches! Thankfully, I successfully defended my thesis! All of this was happening while I was still preparing for my end of semester final exam in a class and preparing a presentation in this same class. Not to mention, work did not stop - still putting in 25-35 hours per week. Finally, I was able to graduate and walk across that stage and receive my graduate diploma!
Since February, my mind and body subconsciously went into survival mode. Marit and I preach lifestyle balance; however, the last few weeks/months is proof that sometimes it is just not possible. Thankfully, mine was short lived and now being middle of May I can re-evaluate my day-to-day to attain that balance again. My body has slowly re-regulated and I have taken steps to ensure I put my mental and physical wellbeing at the forefront now that I am able to do so.
P.S. Exciting news about my next steps will be coming in the next couple of weeks! I cannot wait to bring you all in on the next chapter of my life!

Lately, I (Marit) have had a lot on my plate just as Leah. I was thrilled to attend Leah's graduation ceremony and celebrate with her, even if it was just for a few hours. It was wonderful to reconnect with her in person again. The reason I was able to see Leah was because I surprised Michael for his master's graduation in criminal justice, which was a well-planned and well-kept secret until the big moment.
However, amidst all the excitement of lately, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. There are some significant developments in my life that I'm not ready to share just yet, as they're still uncertain. But I hopefully will be sharing them in the near future.
My recent trip to the USA, which kept me away from school for three weeks, has given me some perspective. Being away from campus and being back now made me realize how ready I am to move on from school. To be honest, I've been feeling like a bit of a misfit on campus lately, as my priorities have shifted. While school is important, there are other matters that require my attention, making it feel like an added extra in my life right now.
Overall, a lot going on but excited for what's to come!
